ABOUT ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS FOR LIFE
Orthodox Christians for Life is a nonprofit pro-life organization dedicated to equipping the Orthodox community to strengthen its commitment to the sacredness of human life from conception to death. We do this by developing educational resources, offering opportunities for engagement in pro-life ministry, and acting as a bridge between Orthodoxy and the pro-life movement.
SUMMARY
The Outreach and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for managing the social media and website presence of the organization. Other key duties include promoting organizational initiatives and spearheading direct mail outreach. This position reports to the Executive Director.
OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Social Media:
- Develop and execute a social media strategy for increasing organizational awareness and engagement
- Collaborate with team to develop compelling and professional content that aligns with broader organizational messaging
- Manage posting schedules for social media platforms
- Analyze performance metrics and stay up-to-date with social media trends
- Connect and interact with followers daily through likes, comments, and messages
- Website:
- Maintain website and make updates to ensure content stays current
- Marketing:
- Manage periodic direct mail campaigns
- Spearhead multi-channel strategy for promoting organizational initiatives
- Operations:
- Prepare documents for electronic signature using Adobe software
- Maintain organized files of photos for use in online & print promotional material
- Coordinate printing orders for materials needed for parish groups and events
- Other tasks, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Orthodox Christian in good standing, with strong commitment to the Church's traditional teachings on moral issues and commitment to the mission and goals of OCLife
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to work independently and manage time remotely
- Creativity and strong aesthetic sense with ability to maintain consistent visual branding
- Demonstrated experience using Canva or similar basic graphic design tool
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent writing skills and online communication skills
- Organizational and multitasking ability
- Awareness of current trends on social media
- Experience with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace
- Experience with or ability to learn basic website editing
- Experience in the pro-life movement and/or the nonprofit sector (preferred)
- Possible requirement for occasional travel, such as to the annual March for Life in January and summer conferences
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
This position is remote, with flexible hours. Some weekends will be required for travel. Hours vary, with average 10 hours/week (plus more when traveling). Hourly rate starting at $18.
