ABOUT ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS FOR LIFE
Orthodox Christians for Life is a nonprofit pro-life organization dedicated to equipping the Orthodox community to strengthen its commitment to the sacredness of human life from conception to death. We do this by developing educational resources, offering opportunities for engagement in pro-life ministry, and acting as a bridge between Orthodoxy and the pro-life movement.
SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the Parish Ministry Program. Other key duties include developing program resources and coordinating organizational initiatives. This position reports to the Executive Director.
OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the contact person for a network of 47+ parish groups.
- Manage all steps of the parish ministry affiliation process, including reviewing parish ministry applications, interviewing potential ministry leaders, and reviewing program materials with new groups.
- Maintain updated and organized parish ministry files and database.
- Regularly communicate with parish ministry leaders to develop relationships and offer support and resources.
- Develop and monitor parish ministry metrics.
- Plan, coordinate, and track participation in organizational initiatives, including the National Orthodox Baby Shower, Dormition Fast Prayer Vigil to End Abortion, 40 Days for Life campaigns, pro-life marches, etc.
- Lead regular Zoom meetings for parish ministry leaders.
- Work with Executive Director to plan and implement webinars for a broader audience.
- Assist with development of written content for parish ministry materials and resources.
- Contribute to social media presence.
- Other tasks, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Orthodox Christian in good standing, with commitment to the Church's traditional teachings on moral issues
- Commitment to the mission and goals of Orthodox Christians for Life
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to work independently and manage time remotely
- Excellent writing skills
- Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
- Creative problem-solving ability
- Organizational and multitasking ability
- Experience with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace
- Experience in the pro-life movement and/or the nonprofit sector
- Ability to contribute to the strategic vision and long-term goals of the organization
- Available to travel to the annual March for Life in Washingon, DC, each January, as well as other occasional events such as summer conferences
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
This position is remote, with flexible hours. Some weekends will be required for travel. Hours vary, with average 20 hours/week (plus more when traveling); hourly rate is $20.
