A Culture of Dealth and How We are Pushing Back
Just over a week ago, our country was shaken by the gruesome attack of an innocent man because of what he stood for. It is a sobering reminder that Satan seeks to kill and destroy all that is good, true, and beautiful.
With so much hatred and violence in our country right now, we are more committed than ever to helping the Orthodox Church become a beacon of hope for all by upholding the sanctity of human life.
We know that faithful Orthodox Christians are hungry for tangible ways to push back against the culture of death, and that is what Orthodox Christians for Life can offer them. Yet most Orthodox individuals do not yet know that OCLife exists. So we spent the last few months sharing our mission and the pro-life message through summer outreach at Orthodox venues. I'd like to share about our experience...
During our time at three Orthodox conferences we were able to connect with hundreds of Orthodox faithful.
- We used fetal models to showcase the wonder of life in the womb
- We spoke with clergy and lay people about how OCLife can support their parish
- We distributed hundreds of materials including icon cards, pens, stickers, and our latest impact report
- We connected with some of our ministry leaders and donors
- And we heard many stories: stories of abortion, of choosing life despite hard circumstances, and of hearts changed through Christ’s love

In addition, I traveled to Antiochian Village and gave two presentations to the Masters and PhD students of the Antiochian House of Studies. I spoke about the problems we face as a Church with regards to abortion, and how we can create a culture of life in our parishes. It was an honor to be invited there and to share our vision with the students and faculty of AHOS (and hopefully I lit a fire under them!).

Because OCLife operates remotely, opportunities like this—to be with people and share our mission in person—are so valuable! Our summer travels have already born fruit: we are working with several new parishes to help them start Orthodox Christians for Life ministries.
